Today I am thankful that my family is strong and supportive in our troubled times. We would never let petty differences get in the way of our true bond to each other and we agree to disagree at times but WE ARE FAMILY! If one of us falters in any way, we all come together and try to fix it. My Dad is 86 and he is our patriarch. He has all of his marbles and even though his body is failing him and he gets crusty at times, he still gives his voice of experience to us all and we listen! My Mom was so supportive in anything we did and spent hours on the phone with my daughter dispensing advice to her and the family and just listening. How many dysfunctional families are out there just waiting for disaster to happen for no reason? It doesn't take a genius to raise a kid, just a caring parent. It's all about kids and the way they are raised, mentored and loved and love is the key. That's just what a family does.
