Valentine’s Day Sweetheart Deals

I found some "creative" and funny Valentine's Day marketing strategies and deals online today. Here are a some of the better ones.

This Valentine's Day, why not buy your loved one a foreclosed home? U.S. realty company RealtyTrac Inc's latest publicity email tells clients: "With more than 1.5 million foreclosure properties on our website, you're sure to find a sweet deal that won't break your heart." It adds romantically: "A sweet foreclosure deal beats a dozen roses or a box of chocolates any day."

In Florida, one jeweler is giving away silver pendants free to residents who have lost their jobs or homes due to foreclosure. "This was a good opportunity to please my wife on Valentines Day," said laid off worker John Steele. And in Eau Claire, Wisconsin a new take on getting more bang for your buck: A free gun to customers who buy a pair of diamond earrings. "Everybody knows guys like guns and girls like diamonds so I figured I would mesh the two together this year,” said gun shop owner Brian Zinn.

The GUY DEAL of the day - Florida Save-A-Lot grocery stores have a dozen roses for $11.00 and they look fresh! Publix has them for $19.99. I could buy 3 dozen @ $11.00 for the price of 1 dozen at the local florist and still have enough left over for a six pack :-) Am I romantic or what?
