Thankful Thursdays - A Vision of Thanks. Florida Firefighters in Action

Here is my Thankful Thursdays contest entry.

Cape Canaveral Fire

Fire Fighter's Prayer

When I am called to duty, God wherever flames may rage,
give me strength to save a life, whatever be its age.

Help me to embrace a little child before it's too late,
or save an older person from the horror of that fate.

Enable me to be alert to hear the weakest shout,
and quickly and efficiently to put the fire out.

I want to fill my calling and to give the best in me,
to guard my neighbor and protect his property.

And if according to your will I have to lose my life,
bless with your protecting hand my loving family from strife.

John, great photo, and tribute to those who run into a burning building when everyone that can, is running out!  Great job!

Kathleen, Anthony, Wanda, Terry, Tony and Darcy - They always show up when you need them and put themselves in harm's way without a second thought.

Now that's cool John - they are such a deserving group of people.  When I think of 9/11 and they're going up while eveyone was going out........whew......

Anna - It took a lot of courage to go up those towers. They could be called upon to lay their lives on the line at any time. Florida Today Newspaper printed my photo below of an RV van that caught fire. Firefighters had everything wrapped up in an hour.

John - something truly to be thankful for, those men and women who go into places the rest of us would be running screaming from!

Mike - You've got that right! On any given day, they can become heroes.
