Marla and I went to Portfest on Saturday and had a great time. I hope you enjoy this photo essay. Mai Tiki has been making tiki scultures in Cocoa Beach for 40 years. Go to www.maitiki.com. That's the Sun Cruz casino boat in the background.

Grill's Restaurant has a bike pit which is usually full on week ends. They have great local entertainment, cold beer and good food.

I didn't get this musician's card but he was pretty good. Notice the unique guitar and stand on the left.

Portfest Music

I only had time for a quick shot of the Disney Wonder steaming past the Sun Cruz Casino dock and Fishlips Restaurant.

The Portfest event was geared toward promoting Breast Cancer Awareness Week with much of the proceeds donated. My Mom had a double mastectomy, so this event was very dear to my heart. Let's hope we find a cure soon and "Save the Tatas". I did my part by purchasing a couple of Coronas. My wife bought 2 pink water bottle cozies and a really nice wooden sculpture. All in all, it was a perfect day for a good cause!

Looks like it was a fun packed day.  I could have had some of that shrimp with Ernest. :)
Beautiful and diverse artwork... and I like the motorcycles too.
Great cause - I hope they did well.

Amazing pictures John!  When I think of you, I always think you should be wearing a shirt that says, "Life is a a Beach"

Sylvie - Shrimp, art, motorcycles, sun, sand and surf. What could be finer?! Come on down for a holiday.

Myrl - I don't think I have that shirt yet but why state the obvious? :-)

Debi - This is a great time of year on the Space Coast. There are all kinds of festivals and events and the weather is perfect. The Space Coast Art Festival is right around the corner and features some fantastic artists and works. I'll post photos of that in November.

We missed the bath tub race this year, so here's a photo from last year's event.
