Your photo reminds me of my visit to Cocoa Beach several years ago when I saw sharks swimming near the beach.

Jaws terrified me as a teen and I wouldn't be in the water! Kudos to your wife John!

OK - I'll come clean! I couldn't resist Photoshopping those fins into the picture and wanted to see what the reaction was. My wife is fine and we rarely see sharks that close to the beach but she has been swimming with schools of skates (a type of sting ray) before. They just go on about their business and don't bother her. The real problem is when Man-o-war jellyfish are in the water and on the beach. My son-in-law knows the painful sting very well. Just take some meat tenderizer to the beach, sprinkle it on and voila, the pain starts to go away. At least we don't have Grizzley Bears and Mountain Lions in Cape Canaveral :-)

John - I'm gonna need to whup you for that:-)  The operative words in your comment are "RARELY see sharks THAT CLOSE..."

John, I like your sense of humor...but I'm with Myrl and we have a saying similar to what she said..."I'm gonna whop you up-side your lop-sidded head".   If the real sharks don't get you first.

By the way...I haven't had my quota of "bikinis" for the day!!!

Mryl - Glad you stopped by again to give me a whupping but as I said, it's all in good fun!

Nick - I only walk in the surf these days and rarely go swimming in the ocean. I ride ny bike instead - it's safer! Here are your bikinis for the day :-)

Now John....not exactly what I had in mind.  Could it be there is some sort of double standard at work here?  But I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt.  This is good ;-)

I read the comments so I know what you were up to. We actually have a place here up in La Jolla where one can walk amongst the sharks. I forget what kind of sharks they are, but not all sharks are dangerous. I hope to get up there some day next summer and take some pictures.

Russel - Most sharks don't want to mess with humans. Almost everytime a surfer gets bitten, the water has been cloudy and the shark didn't know or see what it was biting. We are not their natural prey.

Gail - Is this better? :-)
