John Mayer's Real Estate Blog: I'm Speechless this Sunday - Canada Wins Hockey Gold!

I'm Speechless this Sunday - Canada Wins Hockey Gold!

Way to go Team Canada and what an effort by Team USA! As a transplanted Canadian boy now living in Florida, today was like being back home at Christmas. My wife was born in the US and we both had our flags out while watching this incredible tribute to North American Hockey. Fans and non-fans alike could not help but to get caught up in the fast paced and furious action. I have to admit I cheated, though. I had my lucky autographed photo of Johnny Bower right beside the TV. He was one of the best goalies in the history of the Toronto Maple Leafs and I know he's smiling now :-)

I have to say, I thought the USA team outplayed CAN for the majority of the game, and their last goal was remarkable.  Truly one of the greatest games of all time though.

Nobody got hurt and a good game -that's what I like.

I was kind of holding out for the Americans!  But if anyone had to win it, our neighbors to the north, might as well be the team to do it:-)

Duane - It was definitely a game to remember.

Wanda - So saweet it was!

Robert - My wife might agree with you but I definitely do NOT :-) -- Except the part about a great game.

Jody - No injuries are a GOOD thing. The potential is always there in Hockey.

Myrl - I'm with you. If Canada didn't win, Team USA would have been a worthy Gold medalist as well.

John we popped in to see a Sunday sunset from Florida and were caught off guard by the beautiful tribute to the Canadian men hockey team! Great photo!  Congratulations also must go to the U.S.A. men's hockey team for a great game. YEAH! NORTH AMERICA! YEAH!

John,

The game seemed to be well played, and you can't get much closer than an overtime victory. :)

Al & Peggy - No time for sunsets, just celebrating today! You couldn't have asked for a better game. Even my Dad was watching in Pickering and he's not a sports fan at all. He said, "This is different. This is CANADA!"

Steve - It was a gem of a game right down to the wire.

Jim - Not too speechless, was I? :-)

Hi John - Great win for the host country, and I'm really proud of how our U.S. team battled right to the final seconds to tie it up. After their first two games, I'd love to see a seven-game series. The intensity and competitiveness were amazing.

John - The USA played fantastic inspired Hockey and the goaltending of Ryan Miller was outstanding. I too would like to see more games like that but I'll have to wait for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
