John,

There is something about that view that is timeless and carefree. :)

John - My son was career Navy and had several deployments on Air Craft Carriers.  He wrote wonderful poetry when he was at sea.

Steve - It can be mesmerizing!

Myrl - We all become more creative when we are relaxed and happy. You'll have to share some of his poems.

Here is one of Randy's poems.  He had several deployments to the Persian Gulf.

EXODUS

Good bye my grey world
To your shells and your insects
Dirt and dead coral
Your beach of old stone

Good bye to your sister
That swims in my waters
What ropes
and hideous fingers you've grown

   - by Randy Jeffcoat (written sometime during the 1990s)

I meant to add, if you look at the water in your photo, you can see the ropes and fingers of Randy's poem.  I actually managed to take a guest cruise on the carrier U.S.S. Kitty Hawk in 1994.  I was aboard 4 days as the ship traveled from Seattle to San Diego.  One day, I'll post pictures.  Of all my travels, that was the most unusual.  Did you know aircraft carriers transport approximately 5200 Navy personnel, and some Marines.  The Kitty Hawk was about 18 stories.  You don't realize it, because half the stories are below water.

I SO MISS water, well, the non-drinking kind that is.  Brown is getting me down a little, during these dog days

Hi Myrl - That's a very unique and unusual poem. Not many people get to go on an aircraft carrier cruise. Yo will definitely have to post photos!

Lori - It's easy, just book your cruise after rain camp in Orlando :-)

Juli - You and Lori should both book a trip to the islands. I'm sure you wouldn't mind being pampered while surrounded by deep blue seas :-)

Rebecca - It isn't really that expensive and it can be as relaxing or thrilling as you want. Try it, you'll like it! :-)

John ~ The water looks great! Looks like you had a great time. Reminds me of my time in Hawaii, I miss it dearly.

John  I only have two problems with cruises - too short and too much food.  Actually, we are overdue to book one

Carra - My parents went to Hawaii and loved it! Dad has a ton of slides.

Karen - You're right about the food! You have to pace yourself :-)
