John Mayer's Real Estate Blog: Oh to be 30 Years Younger Again!

Oh to be 30 Years Younger Again!

I was going through my music files today and found this romantic original recording I made in the seventies after a trip to the west coast. I almost forgot how beautiful it was and kinda wish I was 30 years younger again :-) The photo was taken by my Dad at the family cottage on Big Bald Lake, Ontario, Canada.

If I was thirty years younger I would be living in Key West, Fla...

I'd like to be 30 years younger with my CURRENT education and experience level....I would NOT have married my SECOND husband!!!!

Posted by Wallace S. Gibson, CPM, LandlordWhisperer (Gibson Management Group, Ltd.) about 10 years ago

Teral - Key West is a party town. You NEED to be 30 years younger!

Wallace - Youth is wasted on the young! :-) My second wife was troublesome to say the least. Of course, I'm perfect :-)

Very mellow tune John. You need to play the clubs.

Posted by Gary Woltal, Assoc. Broker Realtor SFR Dallas Ft. Worth (Keller Williams Realty) about 10 years ago

Gary - I'm getting back into it again after all these years and have several gigs lined up. It's a labor of love!

Very nice, It's obvious you are quite talented...It would be nice if we could earn our living from the things we are passionate about.

John - I did earn my living years ago by playing my music and I am determined to give it at least one more shot. I have written some pretty good new tunes and the response has been great so far. Of course, I'm not giving up my day job as a Realtor :-)

John, that was beautiful!  I think that a lot of us would like to be a lot younger!

Tony and Darcy - Ain't that the truth!

John  Your woice and playing blended beautifully.  I agree - 30 years younger would would be nice, but some of the past 40 I don't want to do over

Karen - We don't have to do them over, just do them better :-)

Hmmm!  If I were 30 years younger, it would be easier to bend over and tie my shoes!  I can remember my aunts and uncles complaining about aches and pains.  I didn't believe them!  I do now!  Actually though, there isn't too much I do differently!

I really agree with your comment number #13.  I think as we get older, we do a lot things better. . . Slower, but better:-)

You need to record your tunes, and sell CDs here on-line.  I have friends that had a fairly successful Blues group, that did that.

Posted by Myrl Jeffcoat, Greater Sacramento Real Estate Agent (GreatWest Realty) about 10 years ago

Hi Myrl - Tell me about aches and pains! I have a CD which I sell when I play around town. It's available on my website as well.

Hi John, Well, I am impressed - you sound great!  And, you don't look much different than you did 30 years ago.

Thanks Sandy - You look pretty good yourself! I'll be playing at Jump's Tiny Tavern in Cocoa Beach on Oct. 14th and Nov. 4th from 5 to 9 pm.

John - Nice tune and nice voice... And nice Ovation I think? At least it looks like one from here... Ahh to go back again.... I'm a drummer and I could put some brushes on ther fer ya.... only kidding... Nice tune had no idea you were a musician too... Very cool Makes me want to go dig out my old recordings again for a revisit.. Thanks for sharing

Robert - Bring your drums to the party. You are right, I was playing an Ovation Legend electric at the time. I now have a Canadian made Simon and Patrick rosewood with an M1 pick up system. If music is in your blood, it will always provide you and your friends with joy and comfort. You should dig out your recordings.

I like my position in life better than 30 years ago. But I wish I was that age, but where I am now.

Posted by Steven L. Smith, Bellingham WA Home Inspector (King of the House Home Inspection, Inc.) about 10 years ago

Hi John, don't hide that talent any longer!  I think the last 30 years must have been good to you, I don't think you have changed much!

Steven - Youth is wasted on the young :-)

Silvia - The key is to keep your stress level down but that's easier said than done in these hard times we now live in.
