Space Shuttle Endeavour Blasts Off for the Last Time on Friday 4/29/2011

Space Shuttle Endeavour Launches for the Last Time on Friday 4/29/2011 at 3:47 pm. It will be a madhouse all along the Space Coast with parked cars on the side of the road, filled viewing areas and packed beaches. Traffic is usually insane so I only go where my bike can take me and my camera. Fortunately, the beach is only a few minutes away. Commander Mark Kelly's wife, US Representative Gabrielle Giffords, is cleared to attend. President Obama will reportedly be there too. The shuttle program has been good for my area and I'll be sad to see it end soon. Companies like Space X will have to take over now.

John, time is running out for the Shuttle Program.  Hoping to get close enough to "feel" it once again!

John thanks for posting this. I'll have to be watching the news and/or skies to see if I can see it. Thanks again.

Kevin - It can rattle my windows if the wind is right. You can definitely feel it but the Atlas rockets are thunderous!

Drick - Let's hope it doesn't get postponed (srubbed). There will be a lot of disappointed people. Everything  is "GO" for now.

John, I was in town Tuesday at the Cocoa Beach pier very briefly and they had a sign as you walked out to the Tiki Bar to see the launch from there. Enjoy it on Friday. I'm back in big D again : (
