"Houston, We Need A Squeegee" - Love Bug Update

Jeff Parker of Florida Today created this tongue in cheek rendition of Space Shuttle Endeavor covered in Love Bugs. They are so thick here in the Cocoa Beach area, you have to close your car windows while filling gas or they will become unwanted passengers. Hopefully, they will be gone soon! A tourist called me from his hotel in Orlando yesterday and asked how bad the bugs were now. He had read my previous post and was going on a cruise from Port Canaveral. I said, "Are you interested in buying a home"? He said "No, I just wanted to know about the bugs". :-)

John, I didn't know anything about "Love Bugs" so I had to Google them.  What a mess!  I understand you have two Love Bug seasons the next coming up in late August...sounds like it's a good idea to plan your Florida trips around them.

Nick - Most years they are just a nuissance for about a week. This season, they were THICK!! Thankfully, they're mostly done in Cape Canaveral right now.
