John Mayer's Real Estate Blog: Racing Superboats Roar and Spray Their Way Through the Ocean Waves (and bikinis) on Cocoa Beach

Racing Superboats Roar and Spray Their Way Through the Ocean Waves (and bikinis) on Cocoa Beach

The 2nd Annual Thunder on Cocoa Beach Superboat Races were held on Sunday May 22, 2011 and I was there with my Nikon D90 to snap a few photos. My previous post showed the boats on dry land at Port Canaveral but these babies were meant to roar and spray their way through the ocean waves. It takes two people to drive a Super Powered Boat - one on the wheel and one on the throttle. The vibration is vision blurring.

Nice action shots, John ... and I don't mean just the boats! Saw them race a few times at Lake Mead, and it was a lot of fun.

Great pics, John.  Reminds me of our years we lived in the Seattle area and participated in Seafare and watching the hydro-plane races!  Great fun!!!
