John Mayer's Real Estate Blog: The Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour Comes to Port Canaveral, Florida

The Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour Comes to Port Canaveral, Florida

The Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour pulled into to Port Canaveral, Florida Thursday and Friday and the big show is on Saturday June 4th, 2011. The tour is a 7 day, 7 city road trip featuring thousands of hot rods and it all starts from Port Canaveral. Drivers come from as far away as Alaska and South Africa to show off their cars and participate in the 1600 mile adventure. I snapped these photos on Friday when the drivers parked mostly anywhere while they registered. Some were already on full display. Click here for post two.

The driver of this mini show car was taken to the hospital after slamming into a light pole. Apparently, the car just took off. Two other cars sustained minor damage.

Ya gotta love that barely baby blue Chevy rod.  It's beautiful.

Hi Jim - It's a work of art and probably hauls A__!

John, Those cars are SWEEEEEEEEET!!!!!  I love old works of art, I mean cars!  I feel bad for the owner of the mini!

Tony and Darcy - The cars are pretty awesome. Apparently, the mini driver was stable when they took him to the hospital. His car is going to need a lot of work!

I'd love to have that Chevy Impala but a convertible! I go to two yearly car shows in Alvin, Texas they show awesome new and old Cars, Trucks, and Motocycles!  I never knew there was such a motorcycle called an Indian...then I started seeing them mentioned everywhere.

Sussie - I'm sure I can find an Impala convertible somewhere in the show today. How do you want me to ship it? :-)

I would love to have that Corvette, John.  I think it is a 1958 model.  I'm guessing that, because all years up to and through 1957 had single head light beams rather than the doubles.  I wish it was red though.

I should also mention that if that crashed Mini car was mine, I'd be sick to my stomach seeing it wracked up like that. . .Some things in life are a total travesty:-)

Hi Myrl..Hi again Myrl - Two Myrl comments for the price of one! You are probably right about the year of the Corvette. I'd be sick too if I had done all that work on the mini only to have it smash into concrete. It hit pretty hard to bend those cement posts like that. A travesty is right!

Your welcome Keith - I have a lot more photos. Everywhere I turned, there was another great car to photograph.

A beautiful set of cars at Port Canaveral John and you took some excellent photos. I love that turquoise colored one, the Chevy.

I love that last one.  That would be a dangerous show for me to attend.  Dangerous on my pocketbook.

Someday a '23 T-bucket will be roaming around the neighborhood, with a nasty Big Block Chevy of course.  Thanks John!

John, glad I finally made it over here...beautiful cars!  The black Corvette reminds me of a '54 Corvette that I wanted to buy in the mid '80's...the price was a steal at $7K...it needed about $1K in restoration to look like that beauty above...my vote was vetoed...big mistake and to this day is a very sore subject with me.

Nick - That '54 sounded like a deal. Not everyone has the vision to see the value in a great investment - kinda like Real Estate :-)
