Our Christmas Cactus is about 4 years old now, 3 feet across and produces these beautiful flowers year after year. The garden poinsettia is red as well making for a colorful Florida Yuletide. It's almost time to break out the eggnog and rum! To all of my friends at Active Rain: Have a Holly Jolly Christmas and a wonderful Holiday Season! John - I first thought these were orchids... The color is very similar to what we have on our patio.
Have a Merry Christmas, neoghbor
John So lovely, thank you for sharing. The remind me of the orchid lays you get in Hawaii. :)
Hi Jon - My wife has orchids too but this cactus produces great blooms year after year. A little miracle grow dosn't hurt either :-)
Hi Carmela - My parents went to Hawaii and loved it. Maybe I'll get there one day.
Hi John - Looks like a beautiful cactus. Now if we could only have flowers outdoors at this time of year...
Hi Marc - All you have to do is move to Florida :-)
The title caught my eye, what a beautiful cactus flower. I am not sure if we have something similar in Arizona.
Gotta love the gorgeous color, John! Between Christmas Cactus and Amarylis, the December floral department keeps going:-)
Brian - I think you can buy Christmas cactuses almost anywhere.
Hi Myrl - We have to get the color in now before the colder Jan. weather sets in. We typically have several freezes per year in my area. Fortunately, it doesn't last long.
John, Beautiful Cactus! Our Christmas cactus are late bloomers....still waiting! Have a nice day.
Hi Keith - Give it a little Miracle Grow and talk to it :-).
Wow, John!! Your Christmas Cactus is absolutely STUNNING! I have never seen one 3 feet in size! AMAZING!
Hi Joni - We have to transplant it into a bigger pot every year and my wife keeps planting more off shoots. Have a great Holiday!
