John Mayer's Real Estate Blog: Ginnie's Thanksgiving Table

Ginnie's Thanksgiving Table

My mother-in-law Ginnie has passed away for some time now but she was always big on tradtion. Her husband was a Sr. Master Sergeant at Patrick AFB. She liked just the simple tasty basics with a little pumpkin pie for desert. She was a wonderful person and I'm happy that I had the priviledge of being her friend. Charlie "Brown" Walker who sat in the upper right chair is also gone and everyone misses them dearly. I am thankful that I still have my health, good friends, my sanity and my family. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Hey John,

That is a delicious looking taste of 'basics' that your Ginnie made.  Happy Thanksgiving!

I ate at my moms. The trouble with eating at someone else's home is that YOU have no leftovers. Now I am ready for a bit more turkey; but I have none. Oh well I guess I will break down and cook one my self!

Tony - That's what Thansksgiving is all about. Unfortunately, as we get older, some of the family is missing from the table.

Good to have those great memories.

A few years ago we restarted our big Thanksgiving meal. My Grandmother got to attend for about 5 more years before passing away at 102. We have had 3 more since then her passing and still have 80+ every year.

Than - That's a lot of hungry people! 102 years old is quite the mile stone. I hope she was in fairly good health.

Hi Myrl - It was pertty tasty. I always made the mashed potatoes. My holiday was pretty low key this year but enjoyable all the same. Have a well deserved nap on Sunday
