From Fred Migliore, NPR radio host of FM Odyssey airing every Sunday from 10:00 to 1:00 (one of my favorite shows).
"I would like to get more people involved on a national level. My adopted home of Brevard County, FL, sits on the east central coast between Daytona, north and Vero Beach, south and its surrounding waters are in big trouble. Since January, 80 dolphins have died and 280 Manatees and 250 Pelicans have died in the past 12 months. On September 28th, several rallies will happen to raise awareness."
We have some of the cleanest beaches in Florida, so why not fix the Lagoon? These rallies are worth supporting! Below is one of my sunset photos of the Banana River Lagoon. It too needs a little help!

John, I hope the event is a success to raise more awareness for the wildlife that exists in your area! Those statistics are horrifying!
I agree Wanda. We have to protect our environment and make it safe for all creatures.
That sounds like a really beneficial event to protect the environment in your area! That picture of the pier is a stunner, John!
Thanks Myrl - There's a lot of run off that goes into the lagoon and we need more regulation.
Thanks Pat. It easy to take geat photos here. Everything is beautiful!
