Why do we lose the good ones too soon?
My "Uncle" Bruce Johnson just passed away on Friday after fighting pancreatic cancer. He and his wife Helen were truly a part of my family in every way. It seems like yesterday when everyone spent the weekends at the cottage on Big Bald Lake in Ontario, Canada and of course, his son Glen's cottage. The Mayer Familiy sends condolences and prayers. I know my Uncle Bruce is with his wife Helen again in a happier place and will live on in our hearts and minds as long as we are alive. They are probably playing "bid euchre" around a huge white table with my mom and dad right now. Bruce and Dad would, of course, have a snifter of brandy or a rum in hand while telling the ladies who was going to win :-) We shared many special American Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners here in Florida and I know it was a very happy time in their lives as "snowbirds". May you rest in peace!

This was already planned but I will be walking to raise money for diabetes on Apr., 5, 2014. My mom had it and I'm pretty sure Helen did too. Please support me by clicking here: Walk For Diabetes.

John- so sorry to hear about your Uncle Bruce. Pancreatic cancer took a friend of mine a few years ago, and I agree... far too soon. My prayers to you and your family.
John, Sorry for your loss! It is one of the prices we pay for getting older, the people who we admired and loved seem to be leaving us all too soon!
John - I'm sorry to hear you lost a special uncle! Pancreatic cancer is a tough one to fight. It is usually discovered late, when little can be done. My thoughts are with you and your family.
I love that cottage in the woods. I could live there. . .No problem!
Thank you Kathy - We just don't have enough time on this planet!
Tony - He was the last one in my parent's age group and was a wonderful and caring man.
Thank you Myrl for always responding to my posts. I'm sorry that I don't get to your page as often these days but I want you to know that I love your posts and yes, you would have loved that cottage in the woods by the lake! Take care, my friend.
John,
Sorry for your loss. I can see the twinkle in his eyes in your pictures. I'm sure he was a lot of fun.
Rich
