The Pizza Bob Benefit at Milliken's Reef in Port Canaveral, Florida

Freedom of the Seas sailing by Millikin's Reef in Port Canaveral. People came from all over to attend a benefit for the family of well loved local entertainer "Pizza Bob Neace". The event happened Sunday 11/22/09. Bob's website is www.pizzabob.com

The Billy Lee Soul Review with photos of Pizza Bob. He just suddenly dropped dead from a heart attack and leaves a wife and four children. I guess when your time is up, it's up. The bottom line is he had a ton of friends and fans and will be remembered for a very long time. What more can you ask for?

Cybil Gage performs a "Billy Holiday" style set with her phenominal piano player on the right. There were 20 outstanding bands, there was a buffet with donation and lots of cold beer. Pizza Bob would have loved it!

This is what the beach looked like on my bike ride before I went to the benefit. Do you think Pizza Bob is out there somewhere?

I feel blessed to live where I do and this benefit is a reminder to enjoy every minute of your life because you never know when it will all end. Happy Thanks Giving!

Thankful Thursday - A Strong, Loving, Caring Family is so Important in Today's World

Today I am thankful that my family is strong and supportive in our troubled times. We would never let petty differences get in the way of our true bond to each other and we agree to disagree at times but WE ARE FAMILY! If one of us falters in any way, we all come together and try to fix it. My Dad is 86 and he is our patriarch. He has all of his marbles and even though his body is failing him and he gets crusty at times, he still gives his voice of experience to us all and we listen! My Mom was so supportive in anything we did and spent hours on the phone with my daughter dispensing advice to her and the family and just listening. How many dysfunctional families are out there just waiting for disaster to happen for no reason? It doesn't take a genius to raise a kid, just a caring parent. It's all about kids and the way they are raised, mentored and loved and love is the key. That's just what a family does.

Portfest in Port Canaveral, Florida with lots of crafts, great food and music. The Theme was Breast Cancer Awareness Week

Marla and I went to Portfest on Saturday and had a great time. I hope you enjoy this photo essay. Mai Tiki has been making tiki scultures in Cocoa Beach for 40 years. Go to www.maitiki.com. That's the Sun Cruz casino boat in the background.

Grill's Restaurant has a bike pit which is usually full on week ends. They have great local entertainment, cold beer and good food.

I didn't get this musician's card but he was pretty good. Notice the unique guitar and stand on the left.

I only had time for a quick shot of the Disney Wonder steaming past the Sun Cruz Casino dock and Fishlips Restaurant.

The Portfest event was geared toward promoting Breast Cancer Awareness Week with much of the proceeds donated. My Mom had a double mastectomy, so this event was very dear to my heart. Let's hope we find a cure soon and "Save the Tatas". I did my part by purchasing a couple of Coronas. My wife bought 2 pink water bottle cozies and a really nice wooden sculpture. All in all, it was a perfect day for a good cause!

These photos were taken with my old Toshiba 3 mp camera so they're not too sharp but they bring back fond memories of fall in Ontario. I wish I had a better camera back then. My wife used to feed the blue jays, squirrels and chipmunks. The fishing was good too!

An F16 Fighting Falcon streaks by a C117. It was flying at 650 mph most of the time, less than half it's top speed.

About 30,000 spectators lined the beach to watch the show which took place Oct. 4th and 5th. There was a small armada of boats moored just offshore.
